Organising corporate events on a boat in Alicante has become one of the most requested options for companies looking for something different to the usual meeting room. A private sailing yacht on the Mediterranean unlocks something no hotel or conventional venue can match: a setting that forces the team out of office mode and into real connection, with the Alicante coastline in the background and an experience your people will remember for months.

Unlike a private celebration or party, a corporate event has its own rules: a budget that needs to be justified to management or HR, clear objectives (cohesion, client retention, partner pitch), professional logistics and a friendly but formal tone. In this guide we explain how we run company events on board the sailing yacht Peggy, which formats work best for which goal, how many people fit and indicative prices so you can do the maths before picking up the phone.

Why a private sailing yacht works as a venue for corporate events in Alicante

The question is not whether a company event works on a boat — it works very well — but why it works so much better than a coworking space, a hotel or a private dining room. Three reasons keep coming up when we ask teams that have sailed with us.

The first is positive isolation. Once the boat leaves the Real Club de Regatas, no one has an escape route to their phone or screen. Coverage is fine but the context invites disconnection, and over four to eight hours the rhythm of the team shifts. The second is the natural format: there is no obvious head-of-the-table hierarchy on deck; people move around, sit where they want and end up mixing with team members they only nod at in the office. And the third is the differentiation factor: a sailing event is roughly comparable in price to a premium cocktail at a downtown hotel, but the memory it leaves with clients or employees plays in a different league.

For Alicante and Costa Blanca companies, the logistics are also simple: the boarding point is 10 minutes from the city centre by car, parking nearby and a flexible schedule that adapts to the working day. For groups travelling from Madrid or Valencia, it pairs perfectly with a team weekend or a two-day corporate trip.

Corporate event formats on a boat: full day, half day and afterwork

Not every company event needs the same format. These are the three we are asked for the most and which goal each one fits.

Full day (8 hours) — for team building with activities

This is the king format when the goal is team cohesion or a project kick-off. We board around 11:00, sail to a sheltered cove (Tabarca, Cabo de las Huertas or Cala Cantalar depending on the wind), stop for lunch on board, the participants do paddle surf and snorkel during the afternoon and we return to port around 19:00. It is the most complete version: it combines activity, food, sailing and rest on deck. Modality and timetable details on our full day sailing escape.

It works very well for teams of between 8 and 12 people who want a full, well-rounded day with room for short briefings on deck between activities.

Half day (4 hours) — for client meetings and presentations

When the goal is to host an important client or close a negotiation in an out-of-office setting, the half day is perfect. It is usually 10:00 to 14:00 with a brunch-style outing on board or 15:00 to 19:00 with a more informal afternoon vibe. The duration is enough for a deep conversation, a tour along the Alicante coast (Santa Bárbara Castle from the sea, Tabarca Island in view) and a relaxed wrap-up. More details on our half day sailing escape.

It is also the format chosen by companies with smaller groups (4-8 people) or executive committee meetings.

Sunset afterwork (2 hours) — for short celebrations or a monthly event

The 20:00 to 22:00 afterwork is the most recent format we are seeing in demand. It fits closing a quarter, onboarding a new team or a quick retention event. There are no water activities (the water is too cool by then), but you get the golden Alicante sunset light and the calm Mediterranean. It is the most affordable option and the one that repeats the most when a company tries it once: we have had teams turn it into their fixed monthly event.

What's included in a corporate event on board the sailing yacht Peggy

When a company books the boat for an event, the base package includes the same elements as any other private charter on the sailing yacht Peggy, with a couple of nuances designed for the B2B context.

  • Licensed professional skipper for the entire day — the company takes on no navigation responsibility
  • Fuel and harbour fees included — no surprises in the final invoice
  • Open bar drinks on board: water, soft drinks (Coca-Cola), beer, summer red wine, ice
  • Water activities: paddle surf and snorkel gear for the whole group
  • Sound system on board — connectable to your playlist
  • VAT invoice itemised in your company's name (Rumbo al ParaĂso S.L.) — VAT deductible if the event qualifies as representation or training expenditure

What it doesn't include and is worth adding if your event needs it: closed catering (we coordinate with a trusted supplier), corporate decoration with vinyls or roll-ups for visible branding, and professional photography service for social media or internal records.

Capacity and group profile: how many people fit a corporate event

The sailing yacht Peggy is a 19-metre Centurion 61 with an official daytime capacity of 12 people. For corporate events, the groups that work best are 8 to 11 participants: there is room on deck for clusters of conversation without crowding, and the dynamic stays fluid without anyone feeling left out.

For larger groups (15-25 people) we have two solutions:

  1. Twin yachts: we hire a colleague from the Real Club de Regatas with a similar-length boat and sail in flotilla. It works very well for entire departments and lets you mix groups across stages of the day.
  2. Catamaran: for 15+ groups it is the natural option; we route it through our local network with a transparent commission.

For small groups (3-7 people) — executive committee, VIP client meeting — the boat feels spacious, almost private, and lets you cultivate closeness without the distraction of a large group.

Team building activities on the sea

If the goal of the event is pure team building, the on-board activities are the heart of the day. On paper they sound like a summer-camp checklist, but executed on a private sailing yacht in Alicante they become a powerful cohesion tool. More detail in our complete guide to activities on board.

  • Paddle surf and snorkel — guaranteed icebreaker. You'll see managers and interns laughing together within 20 minutes of jumping in
  • Briefing on deck — if you want to use the day for a short feedback or pitch session, the deck works; we recommend blocks of no more than 30-40 minutes
  • Lunch on board — the key moment of the day; conversations that don't happen in the office happen here
  • Participatory sail handling — the skipper can invite the team to help hoist the sails if there's wind; a direct metaphor for coordination that lands later in the closing briefing
  • Awards and on-board games — some companies bring them prepared; the boat is the perfect setting to deliver an informal recognition

How we organise a company event on a boat step by step

The process from first contact to event day is simple, and we make sure the company doesn't have to spend more than a couple of emails and one call on it.

  1. Initial contact: tell us the target date, number of people, event objective (team building, VIP client, afterwork) and preferred format. We come back with availability and a detailed quote within 24 working hours.
  2. Booking: you confirm with a 50% deposit by bank transfer. The proforma invoice with VAT goes with the confirmation. The transfer reference includes the company name and event date.
  3. Pre-event coordination: in the week before the event we close catering if any, the final headcount, special requirements (allergies, branding, photographer), exact boarding time and meeting point.
  4. Event day: boarding at the Real Club de Regatas (Muelle Pte. 3, central Alicante). The skipper welcomes the group, brief safety briefing, and we cast off. The remaining 50% is paid that same day in cash or by prior bank transfer, your choice.
  5. Closing and invoice: the final VAT invoice is sent by email within 48 hours of the event.

For companies that organise several events a year, we offer recurring-client conditions — talk to us and we'll close it.

Indicative prices for corporate events in Alicante 2026

Pricing for a corporate event on a boat in Alicante depends mostly on duration and season. These are our 2026 rates for up to 10 people on the sailing yacht Peggy. Groups of 11-12 carry a €50 surcharge per extra person. For a complete view by boat type and modality, see our Alicante boat rental price guide 2026.

FormatMid season (Apr-May, Sep-Oct)High season (Jun-Aug)
Sunset afterwork (2h)€300€350
Half day (4h)€550€600
6 hours€650€700
Full day (8h)€850€950
11 hours€1,020€1,070

To get a quick idea with realistic extras, a full day team building for 10 people in mid season runs around €850 + light catering (€12-18 per person) = €970-€1,030 total — VAT included and invoice to the company. That is roughly €95 per participant, comparable to or below a hotel-based team building day with venue and catering, but with a much higher impact on memory and cohesion.

Why a company picks us over a broker or portal

We work directly with the boat — we are not an intermediary. That means three things: we respond fast (Carlos usually replies the same day), we know every cove and every recurring client, and our prices carry no platform commission on top. The invoice is issued under Rumbo al Paraíso S.L. (Tax ID B42602185), registered in Alicante and properly itemised so your finance department processes it without friction.

For Alicante companies, we are the local option; for companies coming in from elsewhere, we are the boat owner you deal with directly, no call centres or delayed replies.
